Why this site exists
This is the home for products I design and build, along with the notes that emerge while making them. The aim is deliberately simple: choose a real problem, remove unnecessary complexity, and release something people can understand without a manual.
The work brings together interface design, product thinking, frontend development, and careful iteration. Each project is treated as a living product rather than a one-off experiment. Feedback, accessibility, reliability, and privacy all form part of the design.
The first game: Chess AI
Chess AI began as a focused way to play a complete chess game against a computer. It has grown to include local matches, online play, friendly quick chat, game history, and animated review. The guiding idea remains the same: the useful moment is not only knowing that a move was inaccurate, but understanding what a stronger move was trying to accomplish.
How I approach products
- Clarity before decoration: visual design should make purpose and hierarchy easier to understand.
- Small, complete releases: a focused feature that works reliably is better than a wide set of unfinished promises.
- Respect for the user: privacy, age-appropriate experiences, and honest product language are core requirements.
- Learning in public: guides and field notes turn implementation discoveries into reusable knowledge.
What comes next
More small utilities and games will join Chess AI over time. This site will document how they work, why particular decisions were made, and what changes after real people use them.
